Michael Donnan & Co is an independent firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers based near Neston, South Wirral, Cheshire. The practice was founded in 2015 with the objective of providing a high quality accountancy and taxation service to SMEs and private clients in the Northwest of England and beyond. Our approach is centred on relationships and a professional yet friendly service. We work closely alongside our clients to help them solve their business and taxation problems.
A key part of our vision for the firm is to provide opportunities for local young people to train for professional qualifications and we are proud to be an accredited training office for ICAEW Chartered Accountants.
We are also active members of UK200 Group, a national association of accounting and legal practices, which gives us access to specialists and resources normally associated with much larger firms.
Team profiles
Michael Donnan – Director
Mike trained with the Liverpool office of PricewaterhouseCoopers and upon qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 specialised in taxation. During 11 years with the firm he took a lead taxation role on a wide range of clients from publicly quoted companies to high net worth individuals, as well as spending a period with National Tax Training in London.
Since leaving PwC in 1996, Mike has been Tax Partner with two leading Cheshire practices as well as running his own successful practice and tax consultancy, Donnan Calderbank. He founded MD&Co in 2015.
Ramona Durrant – Practice Manager
Ramona graduated in Consumer Products Management, which included a year in industry with Lyons Tetley. After graduation, Ramona spent 8 years with Chelsea Financial Services as a PEP & Unit Trust Manager and obtained the Financial Planning Certificate qualification. Following a period as a Company Director in London, Ramona relocated with her family to the Wirral.
Having taken career break raising a family, Ramona was ready to resume a full time business career and worked with Mike on the launch of the new firm over a 12 month period running up to our opening in April 2015. Ramona’s role as practice manager encompasses the practice administration and finances, as well as business development, IT and HR. Ramona is also responsible for the firm’s personal taxation services.
